Future Horizons: Bridging AI, Quantum, and New Materials – A Resounding Success

The “Future Horizons: Bridging AI, Quantum and New Materials event” held on May 13 to 17, 2024 in partnership with IVADO, Perimeter Institute, Institut Courtois and Mila, was a resounding success. This event brought together leading minds to explore the intersection of AI, quantum technologies, and materials science, resulting in innovative discussions and promising collaborations.

The conference featured a mix of structured talks, hands on tutorials, and an innovative “Un-Conference” format. This dynamic approach allowed for interactive and spontaneous discussions, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that was well received by all participants.

The conference achieved its main goals of exploring the synergies between AI, quantum and materials science and creating new research collaborations.

Looking ahead, we are excited to resume our monthly collaborative research meetings between IVADO, the Perimeter Institute, and the Institut Courtois starting in September. We are also in the process of planning our next workshop, which will take place in Waterloo in late October 2024, followed by another workshop in Montreal in the spring of 2025.

We extend our sincere thanks to all the speakers who delivered insightful presentations and to the organizing committee for their extraordinary efforts. Together, we are paving the way for advances in AI, quantum technologies, and materials science. We look forward to continuing this journey with all of you at our upcoming events.
