A first Oxford-Quebec-France workshop “Shaping the future of AI and healthcare” co-organized by IVADO
From September 8 to 10, 2024, the first Oxford-Québec-France workshop in the “Shaping the Future of AI” series will be held at the Maison française d’Oxford and Reuben College, University of Oxford. Co-organized by Catherine Régis, Director of Social Innovation and International Policy at IVADO, as well as Maison française d’Oxford, the French Embassy in the UK, the Délégation du Québec à Londres, Oxford University’s Reuben College and IVADO, this workshop will draw on comparative and interdisciplinary perspectives to explore the societal opportunities and challenges associated with the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Discussions will focus particularly on the application of the latest AI algorithms to healthcare, and will also address key ethical and legal issues along three main axes:
- Basic research at the intersection of AI and healthcare
- Integrating AI into clinical environments
- Challenges and opportunities for responsible AI
While IVADO plays a central role in the ecosystem of artificial intelligence research and innovation in Canada, and this commitment to research is particularly strong in the UK and France, this meeting represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaborations with international partners pursuing a common goal of developing AI in the service of society.
