A Chair in organizational ethics and AI governance launched in partnership with HEC Montréal, IVADO, Confiance IA, and the HEC Foundation

Montreal, December 3, 2024 – IVADO is pleased to partner with HEC Montréal, Confiance IA, and the HEC Montréal Foundation to launch a new Chair in organizational ethics and AI governance.

By developing both theoretical and practical knowledge, the Chair will better support organizations in developing individual and collective capabilities to address the many ethical challenges they face. The Chair will particularly contribute to shedding light on issues related to the development and deployment of ethical and responsible AI.

The Chair will be led by Joé Martineau, Professor in the Department of Management at HEC Montréal, and one of the first to focus on organizational and corporate governance of AI. Joé Martineau is also co-leader of Group 5 – Ethics, EDI, and Indigenous Engagement in IVADO’s R3AI Strategic Research Regroupement program.

This Chair is part of IVADO’s commitment to strengthening and supporting research activities related to its R3AI vision for robust, reasoning, and responsible artificial intelligence, in close collaboration with its academic partners, including HEC Montréal. This funding is made possible through the support of the Fonds de recherche du Québec, granted to IVADO for funding ambitious research chairs at partner institutions.
