Building on the success of the first edition, carried out in partnership between IVADO and Garage Légal, and with the support of the Chaire LR Wilson, Garage Légal is launching the second edition of the Clinique juridique en gestion des données numériques.

Whether you are a public or parapublic organization, an SME, or a non-profit, our team of students will guide you in the responsible and compliant management of your digital data, as well as in the implementation and use of technologies, while minimizing legal risks related to the processing of personal data.

Whether you need information on conducting a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), your algorithmic governance, the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in your organization, or issues related to data anonymization, the clinic will be there to support you in your efforts.

The selection of organizations that will benefit from the clinic’s support is entirely editorial and based, in particular, on the potential for training the students involved. The decision to reject an application is therefore at the sole discretion of the Clinique.

BENEFICIARY ORGANIZATIONS

Organizations with their headquarters in Quebec (public and parapublic organizations, SMEs, non-profits).

Applications will be accepted until April 11, 2025.

HOW IT WORKS

Throughout the duration of the project, organizations simply need to fill out a short form on the Garage Légal website, and they will be contacted promptly to confirm their involvement, depending on the Clinique‘s capacity. The Garage reserves the right to admit or decline an organization into the pilot project. All applications are handled confidentially.

IMPORTANT

The students at Garage Légal are supervised by a lawyer, Me Gilles de Saint-Exupéry, and the handling of cases is confidential. However, Garage Légal does not provide legal opinions, legal advice, or draft documents (other than informational notes). Garage Légal does not replace a law firm memorandum, nor does it draft privacy policies, for example. The supervision will be approximately 15 to 20 hours per case.

The project is an initiative of IVADO, the LR Wilson Chair, and Garage Légal, the legal clinic of the Faculty of Law at the University of Montreal.
