PMI Montreal and IVADO announce a strategic partnership to roll out the PMI-CPMAI® certification in Quebec
Montreal, Friday, June 2, 2026 — PMI-Montréal and IVADO announce a strategic collaboration aimed at supporting the launch and visibility of the PMI-CPMAI® certification, a globally recognized credential for structuring and professionalizing artificial intelligence project management.
This joint initiative responds to a growing need: equipping project managers with the skills required to master AI, ensure its responsible use, and maximize its value within Quebec organizations.
A structuring collaboration for the Quebec ecosystem
The partnership is built on IVADO’s scientific and pedagogical contribution, which will participate in the creation and enrichment of the complementary training materials developed by PMI-Montréal. This collaboration will ensure:
- Rigorous alignment with the latest advances in artificial intelligence;
- Consistency with PMI’s global standards;
- A practice-based approach, thanks to the involvement of recognized instructors;
- Strong ties with the AI project management community, positioning the certification as a benchmark in Quebec.
Through this alliance, participants will benefit from high-value knowledge transfer, combining PMI-Montréal’s field expertise and IVADO’s scientific excellence.
A shared vision: professionalizing AI project management
For Catherine Laramée, Executive Director of PMI-Montréal, this collaboration marks a pivotal milestone:
“The PMI-CPMAI® certification is an essential lever for preparing the next generation of project managers to integrate AI in a strategic, responsible manner aligned with global best practices. By combining the rigor of PMI’s international AI standards and IVADO’s scientific excellence — which complements the official materials to enrich the learning experience and anchor the certification in Quebec practices — we are strengthening Quebec’s capacity to position itself as a leader in AI project management.”
IVADO shares the same enthusiasm. Réjean Roy, Director of Training and Knowledge Mobilization at IVADO, highlights:
“By uniting our scientific expertise with PMI’s structured approach, we are contributing to building a solid framework for AI adoption in projects. This collaboration will allow organizations to access proven practices, adapted to Quebec’s reality, and to develop the maturity needed to fully harness the potential of artificial intelligence.”
Launching in June 2026
The first training sessions linked to the PMI-CPMAI® certification will be offered in French starting in June (June 19–20), followed by a second cohort on October 14–15, with an English-language offering planned for the fall. Operational details will be communicated in the coming weeks, and an information webinar will be announced shortly.
A partnership in service of innovation and performance
By combining PMI-Montréal’s recognized project management expertise, the Project Management Institute (PMI) standards, and IVADO’s scientific strength in artificial intelligence, this initiative aims to:
- Showcase Quebec talent in project management and AI;
- Support professionals in building their competencies;
- Align practices with international standards;
- Strengthen organizations’ capacity to deliver structured, responsible, and high-value AI projects.
This partnership represents a major step forward for the Quebec ecosystem, which will benefit from a robust, credible training offer adapted to the current challenges of artificial intelligence.
