This workshop aims to explore the specificities, convergences, and divergences of the issues raised by the development of AI across different sectors of activity. Beyond general approaches and levels of governance, it seeks to better understand the challenges associated with the use of AI in activities and professions of particular importance for individual well-being, the fabric of social cohesion, the construction of collective imaginaries, the functioning of institutions, as well as environmental impacts.

The workshop will bring together researchers from a range of disciplines. While AI is likely to affect all economic and social sectors, the workshop will focus more specifically on four areas where its presence is already significant and where the issues and debates it raises are particularly salient:

  • Media and Information in Democracies
  • Artistic creation and cultural practices
  • Justice and social services
  • Health and medicine

Spanning four days, the workshop will be structured so that each day is dedicated to one of these sectors, featuring academic presentations followed by a roundtable discussion.

Following the workshop, on Friday, September 18, a one-day conference entitled “Bringing disciplines together to improve governance: a cross-section of best practices” will examine the challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration and identify concrete levers to strengthen dialogue across fields.

This activity is part of the Thematic Semester « The Governance of AI », organized under the partnership between IVADO and the centre AI for science, science for AI (AISSAI).

Registration begins on June 14, 2026.
