Assistant professor

I am a researcher in the field of natural language processing (NLP). As a linguist specialising in artificial intelligence, I seek to use linguistic insight to improve our understanding of large language models (LLMs). I focus on improving and evaluating technologies in multilingual contexts and for languagesother than English, and in specialised contexts where there is a lot of terminology. I obtained a master’s degree in translation from the University of Antwerp and a PhD on automatic terminology extraction from Ghent University. I was assistant professor at KU Leuven where my work focused on multilingual language technologies. Currently, I am assistant professor translation technology and AI at the Université de Montréal, and associate academic member of Mila (Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute).
