Ioannis Mitliagkas is assistant professor in the Université de Montréal Department of Computer Science and Operations Research (DIRO). Prior to that he was a postdoctoral scholar in statistics and computer science at Stanford University. He obtained his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research encompasses broad-scale statistical learning and inference problems, large-scale and distributed efficient algorithms, theoretical and data-dependent guarantees, and complex optimization systems
