Chair in Organizational Ethics and Artificial Intelligence Governance
2025-2030
Joé T. Martineau is a professor in the Department of Management at HEC Montréal and co-leader of Regroupement 5 – Ethics, EDI and Indigenous Engagement of the IVADO R³AI program.
By developing both theoretical and practical knowledge, the Chair will better support organizations in developing their individual and collective capacities to tackle the many ethical issues that affect them. In particular, the Chair will help to shed light on the issues involved in developing and deploying ethical and responsible AI.
The research program of the Chair in Organizational Ethics and Artificial Intelligence Governance will focus on three areas:
- Managing the ethical dimension of organizations
- Ethical and responsible governance of AI
- Developing the ethical competence of organizational players
It should be noted that this Chair is one of the first to focus on the organizational and corporate governance of AI, whereas the subject of AI governance has hitherto been analyzed mainly from the angle of public policy and technology regulation.
